~ Vidcast ~

Hello everyone! It's me again :) I hope you're all fine. Well, I'm at home and I created a Vidcast. You know visual things like videos are so important in education. They can help the children learn better, concentrate or those videos can grab their attention.

I created a vidcast that I taught '' co-ordinating conjunctions''. I also want to talk about creation process. Firstly, I recorded the video in my PC thanks to '' FlashBack Express Recorder'' ( it helps you to record your screen.) Then I combined the video and voice with '' OpenShot Video Editor'' ( it's a video edit program.)

~ Podcast ~

Hello everyone, I hope you're all good . As you know '' podcasts'' are soo popular nowadays. One can find different podcast in different topics. ( technology, books, art... etc) and I think podcasts can be used in education. Podcasts are also so beneficial. They can increase social awareness or make you more social.

I also created a podcast. And it's about some emotion pharases in English. I want to talk about how I created it. Firstly, I recorded my voice and with the help of an application called ''Audacity'' I cut some parts and add a music. ( music was taken from Youtube Audio Library and it's free)

~ My Gistory Example ~

  
Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well in quarantine... I told you that I would add my own Gistory example.. but if you can remember, there was a chunk problem. Yes it still exists however I'm going to share my parts of Gistory as I was able to create.

   

First of all you should write your title and text..

Then you should a picture. * It will be your story's cover. ** It's not my story's cover. You can see mine down below.

then you're supposed to add chunks. But there are problems about it. Either the app closes itself or it can not add chunks.

It is my Gistory. I created a story. It's about a brave carrot princess and her saving his father's kingdom. When everything is okay, one day bad things happen and princess have to solve these problems to save the kingdom.

Process of creating chunks. You can photo, audio and even Youtube Links. Of course you can add questions. * You can create chunks but because of a problem you are not able to add it to your story or I could not do it ( I tried to add chunks almost 50 times )  :)

~ Gistory App Review ~

     Helloooo everybody, today I'm introducing to you an application called ''Gistory''. Gistory is an app that you can create your own stories to teach spesific topics. It is not only for grammar but also for reading comprehension and listening skills. You can also create ''decision-based'' stories or just normal activities.

     There are three different story examples. Two of them are in English (one of them is activity to teach simple present tense and the other one is a story.) and the other one is in Spanish ( so I could not have the chance to check it.)

     Let's talk about ''Around the World in 80 days'' example. It's a story that you make progress with your decisions. So its giving you the opportunity of selecting is amazing. Also videos are added to the story so students also benefit from the videos as it is something both visual and aural. Besides, you can highlight the words or sentences to explain something. It is something very useful because as teachers, we can teach important words or daily life expressions.

What do I like and dislike about ''Gistory'' ?

1. The impact of the digital in our modern world is undeniable so that kind of apps which students can use in the class are always welcomed for me.
2. I believe that rather than creating stories for students, making them create stories also may help them to broaden their creative minds.
3. When colors, images, videos are used in education, students can learn better and increase their proficiency. That's one of the reasons that I like about this application.
4. Also it can also be useful for attendance.

1.  First problem about Gistory for now is: adding chunks. If this technical problem can be solved, it will be perfect for me to create a story. 
2.   The other problem is: you can not share your gistory. I am not sure if it's related to the gistory creation problem. If it is..I will update this post.
